      Tungsten based high specific gravity ( Tungsten Alloy)

    Tungsten-based high specific gravity alloy is based on tungsten (containing 80% ~ 99% of tungsten), adding a small amount of nickel, iron, copper and other elements of the alloy, with a significant ratio, High strength, strong ability to absorb radiation, large thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient, good electrical conductivity and processability. 

    There are two main types of high specific gravity tungsten alloys: 
    1.W-Ni-Cu system generally contains 90-95% tungsten, and nickel to copper content ratio is 3:2. Copper can lower the melting point of the nickel binder phase and improve the sintering properties of the alloy. These alloys are non-ferromagnetic and have a simple preparation process. 
     2. W-Ni-Fe system generally contains 90-98% tungsten, and the nickel-iron content ratio is 7:3 or 1:1. These alloys can be heat treated and plastically processed. The strength (σb) of the alloy after plastic working can reach 120 kg/mm2 or more. On the basis of the above two types of alloys, molybdenum, chromium, cobalt, rhodium, platinum, rhodium, palladium and metal oxides (or metal fibers) may be added to improve the process properties, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the alloy.
